Exact Abacus - Warehousing

3EX.NET Stock Control software supports an optimised warehouse operation using both proven and innovative new techniques to enhance the flow of goods and reduce costs. If used in conjunction with the 3EX.NET Supply Chain (SCM) and Demand Management (DM) modules, all business processes are fused together, accelerating return on investment.

Elements

3EX.NET Stock Control software includes the following tools to effectively manage your stock and warehouse:
  • Stock Receipting – recommended put-away of items using volumetric calculation
  • Location Control – optimises the use of space using store and bin profiling and metrics
  • Pick, pack and dispatch – tools to increase the rate of accurate order fulfilment
  • Wireless Stock Control – free operators from fixed terminals to increase productivity and stock accuracy

3EX.NET Stock Control software manages warehouse throughput using activity staging and intelligent slotting. Stock is allocated in real-time and managed in any number of defined store, bin and zone locations. Processes are further enhanced by the Pocket 3EX.NET wireless stock control application.

  • Unlimited store/bin locations - effective intra-warehouse stock control
  • Replenishment - manual or automated procedure ensures stock is located correctly
  • Stock movement tracking - enhance audit ability and identification of discrepancies
  • Costing - every stock movement and stock value is tracked using enquiry
  • Stocktake - perpetual and full cycle counting verifies stock figures whilst allowing operators to continue functions
  • Stock put away - intelligent algorithms reduces time, cost, errors and increases throughput
  • Bin optimisation - ensures stock items are located in the optimum positions
  • Barcoding - product and location barcode labelling and movement validation reduces error

Putting you in Control

Most warehouses are organised in an orthodox way, where products are grouped by type and stored together. For example, a range of shirts are stored in the same area, sorted by size and colour. But similar products are not necessarily sold or used at the same rate. For most multi channel retailers a small percentage of products account for a large majority of orders. If products are stored in a traditional fashion, a picker might have to walk the length of the warehouse, passing by many slow-moving items and even some dead stock in order to reach the location of a popular product. Furthermore, the location of the fast-moving product may be difficult to pick from or inaccessible on foot.

If fast-moving products are stored in the most accessible warehouse locations, pickers don’t have to travel as far or reach as high to fill customer orders. By confining a majority of picking activity to a small area of the warehouse, more orders can be picked by less people, in the same amount of time.
